Christine Swarbrick
Designer
"I find it fascinating how we interact with jewellery on many levels; from sentimental emotional attachments, to expressions of our identity, to being fun and frivolous - a fashion statement."
With 14 years experience in the jewellery industry, Christine has a wealth of expertise and knowledge - bringing with her to Rohan Jewellery a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology, a Diploma in Gemmology, Certificate of Diamond Grading and qualifications as a registered jewellery valuer. There is not much this girl doesn't know about jewellery.
Passionate about design, Chris often draws inspiration from the past and has an extensive knowledge of the Art Deco era of the 20s and 30s. Describing her style as pristine yet daring and playful, Chris has an unique ability to interpret a style with a nod towards the past whilst remaining contemporary. We don't know how she does it, but she also expresses the client's personality in her intricate hand-drawn sketches.
Chris finds the whole process of designing jewellery rewarding. Whether designing a piece from scratch of fashioning a new design from a vintage piece that perhaps hasn't seen the light of day for many years, she still gets a buzz from the creative process. Especially when the process is shared with the client.
Chris is a true artistic talent - she plays the guitar, piano and has a damn fine singing voice. We hear she had a mad crush on Elvis Presley when she was a little girl and asked her Mum how old the King was going to be when she was twenty, because that is when she would be ready to marry him.

When I was younger I wanted to be a rock star.
